What the tape shows
The tape at his best — the 2023 South Alabama film — shows a receiver who operates like a running back in a slot alignment. At his best with the ball in his hands, he transitions immediately out of the catch and attacks the open field with vision and acceleration that feel foreign to his receiver measurements. He is a genuine threat on quick screens, jet sweeps, and short flat routes, where his running-back instincts and cutting ability allow him to make defenders miss in ways that standard receivers cannot replicate. His speed is legitimate, his vision is natural, and he plays with a kind of competitive urgency on every snap that coaches tend to love regardless of the production numbers. His limitations on the Louisville tape are honest. He struggled against press coverage throughout his ACC season — physical corners at the line of scrimmage were able to disrupt his release and redirect his routes before he could get into his stem, and he has not shown the release variety necessary to counter physical press consistently at the NFL level.
