What the tape shows

His route craft is legitimate. He shows clean releases at the line, quick-but-controlled footwork through the stem, and the ability to create separation at the top of his routes through decisiveness and precision rather than speed. He does not gear down coming out of his breaks, which is the thing that separates receivers who can create separation from the ones who merely go through the motions of a route tree. Daniels uses his hands late to mislead and deceive defensive backs in coverage, flashes strong hands capable of spectacular contested grabs, and shows excellent ball tracking on anything thrown downfield. He is at his best on back-shoulder throws and intermediate routes where he can use his frame and positioning to body defenders off the ball.
