What the tape shows

At his best, Young is a red zone nightmare. He uses his frame to wall off defenders on back-shoulder fades and contested catches with the instincts of a basketball player boxing out under the glass. His hands are reliable, and when the quarterback puts the ball in his vicinity, Young gives him a target that is nearly impossible to cover at the high point. He has shown clean footwork and balance as a route runner on the short-to-intermediate level — hitches, outs, and curls — with a surprisingly light first step given his build.
