What the tape shows
He is one of the few receivers in this class who offers genuine boundary receiver size alongside legitimate vertical speed. He closes cushion quickly off the line against off coverage, and corners who bail at the snap struggle to recover once he gets into his stride. His deep ball tracking is a real weapon — he locates and adjusts to vertical throws over his shoulder without breaking stride, and his awareness to spin away from contact and immediately get upfield shows above-average YAC instincts. The limitations are in his lower body flexibility and build-up speed profile. His hips stay high on in-breaking routes and digs, which makes him labored in cuts that require lateral acceleration — the kind of routes that NFL corners will try to take away with aggressive technique. Physical corners who can mirror his release and get hands on him at the stem disrupt his timing and steer him off his path. His contested catch rate on tape (44.4%) is inconsistent given his size and should be higher. He is not a sudden athlete at the top of routes and takes longer to threaten vertically than his forty time suggests.
