What the tape shows

Johnson is the most complete receiving back in this class and one of the best processing runners regardless of position. His production at the Power-conference level (Big Ten RB of the Year, third in FBS rushing) is legitimate and the tape backs every number up. The athleticism profile is merely adequate, not elite — but his vision, footwork, and receiving ability compensate for the missing straight-line speed in ways that scheme-versatile NFL offenses will value. e presses the line with a 'slot too, fast through' mentality — letting the blocking scheme develop around him while reading the backside linebacker, then triggering through the crease the instant it opens. He doesn't over-process and he doesn't under-process.
