What the tape shows

With a shorter, stockier build, Taylor runs with outstanding contact balance and impressive power behind his pads. He carries that power into pass protection, where he shows encouraging third-down upside. He runs well behind his pads between the tackles, powers through arm tackles, and pushes piles with strong leg drive. He has a nose for the endzone with 22 rushing touchdowns during his career. His hips are somewhat tight, which limits his ability to consistently change direction, though he does display effective one-cut quickness when pressing downhill. His vision and decisiveness are more consistent in wide-zone concepts than in between-the-tackles concepts.
